About us

Fall of 2024 we set down roots in a brick and mortar storefront in Pendleton, Indiana. For several years we have been enjoying the lifestyle and chaos of fulltime travel and vending at festivals and markets across the county.

When we decided to put down roots for a time, we set out to not only create a retail space, but to design a space to be experienced, and offer a calming, grounding, peaceful energy. We enjoy inspiring people to wonder, to connect with others, explore their spiritual connections, and to bring a smile to those who visit. We hope your visit to our little store is an experience you enjoy.

Who Are We?

Greg

A woodworker whose journey took an unexpected, and magical turn—from endless corporate travel to hand-carved wands and rolling dice.

After years in a corporate training career, and an educational background in Leadership and Development, Greg chose to escape the classrooms and conference calls and find his peace in the workshop, trading in power point for power tools and spreadsheets for sawdust. Driven by a passion for craftsmanship, he creates one-of-a-kind wooden wands, handcrafted game boards, and unique accessories for tabletop gaming. His work also includes giving new life to vintage furniture through creative rehab and redesign and occasional home decor' piece.

Today, Greg blends traditional woodworking with a deep respect for natural materials and the history behind his creations—offering pieces that are as functional as they are enchanting. Over the twelve years we've been participating in festivals, fairs, and markets, making wands has evolved into Greg's passion. Several of our customers collect Greg's wands not only for the quality of craftmanship, but the positive energy they carry.

Greg is also the maker of Black Feather Studio's flameless home fragrances. He crafts small batches of fragrances chosen to transport you to a time and place held in a special memory or place that only exists in the fantastical.

Terri

After experiencing a life-changing injury, Terri’s interest in jewelry making inspired her occupational therapist to use bracelet-making as an exercise in pattern recognition, focus, and visual processing. In the process she discovered a natural talent for creating wire wrapped jewelry. Today, she creates meaningful, one-of-a-kind wire wrap jewelry that blends the energy of natural stones, with copper, brass, and silver wire.

Terri's interest in folklore and fairytale alongside her connection with nature inspires her other jewelry pieces, some a reimagining of vintage jewelry into entirely new pieces, others creating themed charm bracelets, pendants or earrings. Her work is a reflection of resilience, transformation, and telling a story of renewal.

When not creating jewelry, you’ll find Terri tending her herb gardens, crafting aromatherapy products, or working alongside Greg adding whimsy to a piece of furniture.

Pre Black Feather Studios days, Terri enjoyed a long career in the veterinary medicine field, and  is proud of the advanced education achievements she took on as an older adult. Her education includes a degree in Psychology minoring in Family Science and a concentrations in both SPED and Nutrition.

Us Outside of Black Feather Studios

Occasionally we take time away from Black Feather Studios, Terri's dog spa (Bark Alley) and our weekday "regular" jobs and run away to the forest, a mountain, or a beach. We love to camp, hike,  and connect with nature.

Retirement isn't too far off, a few years away still. Until then we're enjoying Black Feather Studios being settled in the quiet little town where Terri grew up. Then it's back to fulltime travel.
